Co-curricular Activities (CCA)

Co-curricular activities are an integral part of AISS. According to our Education Philosophy, CCAs are essential for learning beyond the standard classroom lessons. CCAs give the students the opportunity to interact with each other on a different level, to get to explore new avenues and to master life-skills students will benefit from later in life.

Listed below are the CCAs we offer and some of their brief descriptions.

Two CCAs are included in the school fees, additional CCAs are available for a fee (terms and conditions apply).

AISS's CCAs (with some examples)

German Language

Come and learn the German language with our native teacher, fondly known as Mr Max. Start preparing to study for ‘free’ in Germany. The German language is rising in popularity and the teacher will prepare the students to sit for the IGCSE German Foreign Language paper.

Math Olympiad

Students will engage in solving Mathematical problems in a systematic and logical way, all while having fun.

Students will also participate in the annual Kangaroo Math Competition and the Beaver Computational Thinking Competition.

Music Club

Do you have a favourite song or band? Have you ever played a musical instrument or been to a concert? In this CCA, students will be able to express thoughts and emotions through music. Students will form a choir/ensemble/band to develop creativity as well as building confidence through performance.

Basketball

In the Basketball training sessions, the students will engage in physical exercises and movements to improve their fitness level. Ultimately, we hope to form a school basketball team from this CCA to represent AISS in friendly matches and competitions.

Urban Farming

Students will learn how to grow their own vegetables indoor sustainably using hydroponics. Students will learn the whole process, from opening the packets of seeds to harvesting the plants.

Model United Nations Club (MUN)

This is an amazing activity where students prepare to go for conferences. They will be assigned as a delegate of a particular country in a particular council and meet to discuss global issues and come up with resolutions. The club is preparing for a conference at Nexus International School, NISMUNC, which will be held from 21 – 23 February 2020, and many more events afterwards!
